We take the south access (route 68) through Cerrillos, la Merced and el Carril, then we make a turn and take route 33 to the west to travel through the Quebrada del Escoipe, las Goteras, the Giant’s Cave, the Condoreras (condor nests area), la Cuesta

del Obispo, the enchanted valley to reach the mill stone, where we will leave the subtropical forest to drive in the Puna desert: national park Los Cardones, the recta de Tin Tin (traced by the Incas), Payogasta town and finally reach Cachi. We visit the church, central square, museum, we have lunch in Cachi and then we take route 40 across the Calchaqui Valley. Driving through Seclantas, Molinos, Angastaco, the arrow’s gorge, San Carlos, Animaná to reach Cafayate. We spend the night there and the next day we visit wineries, and after lunch we start out journey back to Salta through Las Conchas canyon where we can see plenty of rock formations caused by the water and the wind throughout millions of years (such as: the castles, the amphitheater, the devil’s gorge, the frog, the monk, the windows). after the canyon we drive through the plantation area in the Lerma Valley before we reach Salta.
